Luca di Montezemolo, President of Ferrari SpA, announced Thursday March 6th in Geneva that Ferrari is going to unveil a new entry level model in September at the Paris Auto Show. Rumors abound about a new “Dino”, codenamed the “F149”, being a return to the formula created by Alfredo Ferrari in the late ’60’s to provide a sports car with wider appeal via a smaller price tag. This formula proved to be a success, as the Dino is widely regarded as one of the most popular Ferrari’s of all time. The new “Dino” is rumored to be powered by a V-8 and is expected to be priced similar to the outgoing f430. With such a high price tag, one has to wonder how popular it will really be with the reduced engine size.
